Dr. Cook volunteered for the United States Air Force, entering the military in 1965. He was appointed Chief of Oral Surgery at Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, Florida, and completed his tour of duty with an Honorable Discharge in 1967. After his military service, Dr. Cook moved to Lakeland, Florida, opening his practice at 407 S. Kentucky Ave. in January of 1968. He has served the surgical needs of patients in Lakeland and Central Florida ever since.
Dr. Cook has held every office in the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and was President of the Society in 1993-94. Dr. Cook was a member of the Executive Board of the FSOMS for many years prior to his presidency and has been a member of the Board ever since. He is presently the Awards Chairman and the Editor of the FSOMS News Letter. He has been the recipient of numerous awards for his service to that organization.Dr. Cook is a Fellow of the American Association of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, American Association of Implant Dentistry, and the Florida Association of Dental Anesthesiology.
